Whiskey Walnut Blondies

Ingredients
- 1 stick (or 4 ounces) of butter
- 1 cup of packed dark brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1⁄2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extra
- 2 tablespoons of whiskey
- 1 cup of all purpose flour
- 1⁄2 cup of roughly chopped walnuts
- Optional: 1⁄4-1⁄2 cup of chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350℉. Lightly butter (or oil) an 8 or 9 inch square baking pan.
- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat on the stove1.
- Pour the browned butter into a bowl with the brown sugar. Let cool for 3-5 minutes.
- Beat the brown sugar/butter mixture using a hand (or stand) mixer until well combined.
- Add the egg and continue to beat until well combined and fluffy (for 2-4 minutes).
- Add the whiskey, vanilla extract, and salt and beat for another 2 minutes.
- Add the flour and beat until well combined.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts and (optional) chocolate chips.
- Spread the mixture into your buttered/oiled pan and bake for 25 minutes or until the edges begin to brown.
